Signs of an interturn short circuit

Why occurs

The main reason is aging or overheating of the winding wire insulation. Also, short circuits are provoked by overvoltage, vibration, moisture and abrasive dust.

What to do

An interturn short circuit cannot be partially treated - the damaged winding can only be restored by rewinding. The sooner the defect is identified, the lower the risk that the engine will burn out completely and damage the stator iron.
