Rewinding a single-phase electric motor is a popular repair and technical service provided by our company. Asynchronous single-phase electric motors are one of the most common types of electrical machines. Considering that household energy consumption is single-phase, most electric motors installed in drives of various equipment are designed for direct connection to a network with a voltage of 220 V and a frequency of 50 Hz.
The need to rewind a single-phase electric motor may arise during operation (sudden failure), as well as as a result of an inspection during maintenance, during various types of repairs (urgent, current, major). Single-phase asynchronous motors are widely used in a variety of household appliances, for example, washing machines, dishwashers, and fans. They are also installed in drives of equipment for household and industrial use (pumps, low-power machines, compressors).
A characteristic feature of such electric motors is their varying power (tens of watts - several kilowatts). Accordingly, they have different dimensions and some design features. Electric motors with a power of less than 1 kW are mainly used in household appliances and equipment designed to be connected to a two-wire electrical network. More powerful motors are used in industrial drives.
The single-phase electric motor has a design that includes:
- stator with working and starting windings;
- rotating rotor mounted on a shaft;
- shields with rotation support bearings;
- cooling fan, cap;
- frame, auxiliary elements.
The main operating parameters of single-phase electric motors are power (torque), efficiency, rotation speed, duty cycle.
Repair of single-phase electric motors
Repair of single-phase electric motors will help restore the factory technical parameters of the drives. Motors of this type use a stator with a single-phase winding, a squirrel-cage rotor, and an additional starting winding located perpendicular to the main one. During operation of the drive, periodic current overloads may occur in both windings, leading to a decrease in power, unacceptable heating, and complete failure (stop).
By rewinding a single-phase electric motor, it is possible to completely restore its performance characteristics. At the same time, the cost of restoration repairs is significantly lower than the purchase of another unit. So, rewinding a single-phase electric motor is on average more than 2 times cheaper than buying a new one. During restoration, the installation dimensions do not change; installation of the repaired engine in its original place is carried out as quickly as possible.
Repair of single-phase electric motors with rewinding of the working or starting stator windings is carried out in a workshop. For this purpose, special rewinding equipment is used. Its use allows you to rewind a single-phase electric motor with high quality, while observing the technology of laying and insulating winding wires.
Fixing an electric motor is not just about rewinding it. During the repair process, all important electromechanical parameters of the unit are restored, it is cleaned, bearings are lubricated and other necessary technological operations are carried out.
