Crane engines MTF and MTH: features

Crane engines MTF and MTH: features

Crane motors of the MTF and MTH series are specially designed for heavy-duty lifting applications. Let's look at their features.

What are they created for?

Crane engines are designed for intermittent operation (S3–S5) with frequent starts, reverses and braking - something that would kill a regular engine. They have an increased starting torque and are resistant to overloads.

Differences between MTF and MTH

SeriesFeature
MTFClass F insulation
MTHClass H insulation (more heat-resistant)

MTH with class H insulation can withstand higher temperatures, which is important for particularly intensive work.

Design features

  • Slip ring rotorwith slip rings - for starting control.
  • Increased starting torque.
  • Resistance to frequent startsand overloads.
  • Often complete with a brake.

Repair features

Crane motors require qualified repairs: restoration of slip rings, rewinding with insulation of the required class, balancing. Repair of crane engines takes into account their heavy duty operation. The condition is assessed by diagnostics.
