Reversing a three-phase motor
The direction of rotation of a three-phase motor is changed very simply - by swapping any two phases. The magnetic field begins to rotate in the opposite direction, and the rotor follows it.
Reversing a single-phase motor
It is more complicated here: the leads of the starting (or working) winding are swapped relative to the other. The diagram depends on the type of motor, so it is important to check the diagram on the terminal box.
