When choosing an engine, speed is as important as power. Let's look at the differences between 1500 and 3000 rpm engines and what to choose.
Where do the revolutions come from
The revolutions are determined by the number of poles: 2 poles give ~3000 rpm, 4 poles - ~1500 rpm. With the same power, their torque is different.
Comparison
| Parameter | 3000 rpm | 1500 rpm |
|---|---|---|
| Torque (at equal power) | Less | More (double) |
| Noise and vibration | Higher | Lower |
| Bearing wear | Higher | Lower |
| Application | Pumps, fans high pressure | Universal |
What to choose
- 3000 rpm - for mechanisms requiring high speed (some pumps, fans).
- 1500 rpm - universal option, more torque, less noise and wear.
Important: when replacing the engine The revolutions must coincide with the original ones - otherwise the mechanism will not work correctly. You cannot put 3000 instead of 1500 and vice versa without recalculating the drive. Read more in the article about selecting an engine.
